Indiana Landmarks has named the Dephi Preservation Society winner of the annual Cook Cup for Outstanding Restoration. The organization will be featured at an event April 29 in Indianapolis for its work to overhaul the 1865 Delphi Opera House.
The Delphi Preservation Society bought the building in 1996. The project eventually became a feature of the city's winning bid for the 2012 Indiana Stellar Communities program, which involved a $2.6 million matching grant to wrap-up the remaining restoration work. The efforts totaled some $4.3 million.
